A Life Beyond the Classroom
One of the great strengths of the boarding school model is the richness of life beyond formal lessons. Lawrence College offers an extensive programme of clubs and societies that allow students to explore interests, develop expertise, and exercise leadership in areas that complement their academic and sporting development.
Clubs and societies meet regularly throughout the term, under the guidance of staff supervisors and student leaders. Participation is encouraged across all year groups, and the best society events draw audiences from across the college community.
Debating Society
One of Lawrence College's most prestigious societies, the Debating Society trains students in the arts of argumentation, research and public speaking. Regular inter-house and inter-school debates are held, and the society has produced many of the college's most articulate alumni.
Science Society
The Science Society promotes enthusiasm for the natural sciences beyond the formal curriculum. Activities include experiments, demonstrations, science fairs and discussions of contemporary scientific issues. The society prepares students for science competitions and university-level science.
Literary Society
The Literary Society celebrates Urdu and English literature — organising poetry recitations, short story competitions, book discussions and creative writing workshops. It nurtures the love of language and literature that produces the writers and communicators among the Gallian community.
IT & Robotics Club
As technology becomes increasingly central to professional life, the IT and Robotics Club provides students with hands-on experience in programming, digital design and robotics — skills that are valuable across every career path available to modern Gallians.
Geography & Nature Society
Lawrence College's mountain setting makes the Geography and Nature Society uniquely privileged. Field trips into the Murree Hills, nature study, environmental awareness and geographical investigation are all part of this society's activities.
College Magazine
Lawrence College publishes a college magazine featuring student writing, photography, reports on college activities, and contributions from Old Gallians. Working on the magazine develops writing, editing and layout skills — valuable experience for students interested in communication and journalism.
Islamic Society
The Islamic Society supports the religious development and Islamic education of Muslim students. Activities include Quran recitation competitions, Islamic history discussions, Seerah study and support for the college's programme of religious observance throughout the year.
History & Current Affairs
This society explores Pakistan's history and contemporary world affairs — organising discussions, presentations and debates on historical events and current national and international issues. It develops the informed citizenship that is central to the Gallian ethos of public service.
